The USA is hosting our team hospitably and happily, and our delegation never gets tired of thanking the American people for their support and assistance to Ukraine in the struggle.

Our tireless Executive Director Natalia Ricabal Kalmykova, Head of Veterans Council Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and active service Volodymyr Laguta, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and active service Alexandr Morozov, veteran, co-founder of the Ukrainian Women Veteran Movement Yulia Kirillova, mother of the defender of “Azovstal” Dmytro “Orest” Kozatsky Iryna Yurchenko, UVF employees Tetiana Shvydchenko and Olena Prikhno, Director General of the Director General of the Directorate of Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Alina Maslo have important meetings every day where they exchange experience with American and Ukrainian colleagues living in the USA, talk about Ukrainian veterans and build a support network for Ukrainian defenders.

The other day, the Foundation’s delegation met with William Taylor, the former US Ambassador to Ukraine. They discussed the possibilities of supporting veterans, in particular: business mentoring, social support for families and children of the fallen.

It was a great pleasure for the team to meet with Dora Khomyak, President of the Charitable organization Razom for Ukraine, a partner of our Foundation. The meeting took place near the Taras Shevchenko memorial in Washington. We are very grateful for cooperation within the framework of UVF projects, which are designed to support the business of veterans and their families, and at the same time, this is a significant contribution to strengthening the stability of our state and constant support of Ukraine! With gratitude, Nataliya Kalmykova presented Dora Khomyak a letter of thanks.

Our representatives met for the second time with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova. This time, the parties discussed the Foundation’s projects and the prospects of foreign fundraising. During the conversation, the idea of ​​courses under the auspices of the Foundation together with Ukrainian and American universities, and with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America was born.

We are sincerely grateful to Mrs. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States for supporting the team in the preparation and implementation of the trip.

Our delegates also visited the Army Navy Club, where a meeting with the President of ​​the US Foundation “People of Ukraine” Tanya Shea was held. The military attaché of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, General Kremenetskyi, was present at the meeting. They discussed the transition of veterans to civilian life, the development and improvement of veteran business, as well as prospects for cooperation.

In addition, our team met with Steven Nix, regional director for Eurasia at the International Republican Institute (IRI). For IRI, the Ukrainian issue is a priority, because they are those who are lobbying the American Congress to supply arms to Ukraine. The Foundation’s team emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian defenders and veterans, their family members and the families of the fallen.

The entire team took part in a round table at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) with scientists, researchers of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Representatives of the Institute for the Study of War were also present at the meeting. The participants were interested to hear firsthand about the resistance of the Ukrainian people and the future of Ukrainian defenders, as well as about the role of veterans on the way to victory, the participation of women in the defense of the country, problems and prospects of rehabilitation of war veterans, etc.

Finally, the delegation was invited to Kennedy Hall, where the “Benefit Concert for Ukraine” took place with the participation of the New Era Orchestra from Kyiv and the world-famous violinist Joshua Bell.
